Hello! My question is about a pain, I get in my left shoulder blade area which usually happens when the weather turns cold it feels and sounds like my shoulder is popping when I hold my arm over my head making it sometimes difficult to move and pen next to my body,Aleve, helps but the pain comes back.but when the weather is warm no problems movement is fairly fine is this some sort of infection perhaps. Need answers please.
It seems like a muscle tendon inflammation in that area. Usually in such cases we recommend painkillers such as Ibuprofen pills twice orally those days. I also suggest you to be seen by a rheumatologist who is the specialist that cares about this.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
The symptoms are of frozen shoulder. I suggest you to consult your orthopedist for clinical assessment and physiotherapy. Hot fomentation during winters is also helpful since joint becomes stiff during cold weather.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
