Suggest Remedy For Loose Motions In Infants

my son who is one year and six months old is suffering from loose motions and vomitting from saturday, first two days he had fever but now fever is not there, doc says he is suffering from stomach infection.medicines given are flora BC, taxim -o, ondem,OFM and also he is on 3 day injection course.but still his condition is bad...what do i do

Hi,

I am sorry for the loose stool motions and vomiting your one year and six months son is going through.

He is having stomach flu (infection). Flora BC will stabilize his intestinal flora (as it is a probiotic),
Ondem will help with vomiting, however, is he is still vomiting, I think he is not keeping the meds. Might need iv medications until no vomit.

Taxim-o is an antibiotic to cover bacterial infection as well as OFM.

If his condition is still bad, then, should run stool culture and abdominal ultrasound.
Antifungal treatment should be also started.

Discuss this further with his pediatrician. However, keep in mind that will take a few more days until fully recovered.
