Hello,
The lymph node enlargement is obvious following bacterial or viral infection in the draining regions of the dermatome as that of cervical region in
respiratory tract congestion. My guidelines in your case:
- As
Azithromycin is prescribed for the control of infection, it will take care of the bacteria killing and inflammation control
- There is no need to rush to an ER, but intake of analgesic as ibuprofen with paracetamol (if no history of drug sensitivity) after meals preferably with antacid
- Gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil
- Taking care to avoid exposure to pollen or dust (if needed to go outside, use face mask wisely)
- Avoid swimming if involved
- Keep the ear plugged with sterile cotton balls
- Local application of
ciprofloxacin or
moxifloxacin ear drops take care of simultaneous
otitis media condition as well
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
