I had a cleft pallet at birth and 45 years later according to a laryngologist, the back part of my septum is missing. Every time I eat, food and mucous collects in my nasal passages causing me to constantly feel like I have to clear this mucous and food from my passages. Is there a way to fix this? Rebuild the septum?
in my opinion this missing part of septum is causing these swallowing problem. the solution for this is surgery only. there are many way in surgery to rebuild it. nasal floor flap or nasopharyngeal flaps can be used depends upon surgical circumstances.
