General & Family Physician 's  Response
At old age there is destruction of all the systems of the body including nerves. This process takes years to develop. When at old age there is minor damage to the nerves it presents with more severe symptoms. Every operation has complications so this nerve damage might be the complication of the procedure you undertook. Mostly this feeling goes away within a year. As its being too long so I would suggest you to meet a rehabilitation specialist who will conduct some tests to confirm whether there is a nerve damage or its anything else. No need to be depressed. Just keep yourself busy and happy. Get well soon.
