Suggest Remedy For Pain After Wisdom Teeth Withdrawal?
Hello,
I am 41 yrs old and had my two top wisdom teeth pulled a week ago. I am still experiencing some pain...especially on the top right side of my jaw. I have overcome the jaw stiffness but it will take a little more time for it to be 100%. My issues are throbbing sinus pain (especially by the evening), jaw pain (like clenching teeth), neck pain and ear pressure. Is this dry socket on my right side? I was told there was no sinus puncture during extraction but is my sinus reacting to my tooth being gone?
As per your complain your symptoms indicates towards dry socket as it is one week passed of your extraction and in case the blood clot has dislodged from the socket in the initial day or two of extraction dry socket can develop by now leading to sharp pain in the area of extraction socket and can cause radiating pain to neck, pressure and pain in ear and can radiate to the entire jaw on same side..
Many times if sinus is perforated during extraction it gets healed when the blood clot is formed and healing takes place in socket but if the clot is dislodged and there would be a sinus perforation you would have noticed water and fluids coming out of nose when taken in mouth..
If it is not so it may or may not be sinus perforation..
I would suggest you to consult an ORAL SURGEON and get evaluated for the cause of pain and clinIcal examination and x ray can help in ruling out the exact cause of pain..
For controlling pain episodes you can take painkiller like Ibuprofen or tamadol (for severe pain).
Hope you get well soon..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
