Suggest Remedy For Pain And Fever After Wisdom Tooth Extraction
Hi, I got my bottom wisdom tooth extracted on thursday. It was very quick, I was in quite a bit of pain after. The next day in the evening I had a fever, but feel better today. When I look at the wound that was also stitched up, there appears to be white coloured extra skin or sort around the stitches. I also had to start taking antibiotics cause apparently when the tooth was extracted, there was quite a bit of bacteria flow underneath. Is the white around the stitches sign of healing or bacteria flowing out?
As per your query mild fever is a common finding after extraction of wisdom tooth and not to be worried about until fever is high and persistent as high fever may indicate infection.
The white coloured skin around the stitches may be a healing lesion and not any infected condition if you do not have any heavy pain or discomfort.
I would suggest you to continue your medicines as prescribed by the dentist but if you have any pain or discomfort you can consult your dentist again and get check-up done.
Otherwise continue medication and follow other instructions given to you by your dentist. Hope your query is solved..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
