Suggest Remedy For Pain In Upper Jaw Due To A Tooth Cavity

One of my upper jaw teeth has developed a cavity in the center six months ago i try to keep it clean and brush (as i am also suffering from foul smell of mouth since childhood) but at the start of Ramadhan my upper jaw started pain on drinking, even cold n warm water's first sip produces pain. Now i have a mild but regular pain in my left upper jaw along with half of my face. Any suggestions?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern.

Well the symptoms you mention in your query are clearly indication a condition known as ' irreversible pulpitis ' , which is a condition in which there is damage to pulp that is beyond repair . In this condition bacteria reaches the pulp usually when person keep ignoring minor dental problem or reversible pulpitis remains untreated for long time .

I would suggest you to consult dentist or endodontist for proper examination .

Doctor will order X-ray to find out exact cause and to find out if there is any abscess under tooth.

If there will be abscess then dentist will put you on antibiotics course , after antibiotics course he/she will perform RCT (root canal treatment) .

If there is no abscess then doctor will start performing RCT , it may take 1-3 seatings .

After RCT doctor will give crown in affected tooth.

Till then maintain proper oral hygiene , do warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day and avoid food having extreme temperature .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
