Suggest Remedy For Painful Itchy Bumps On Body

Dark purple red bumps appeared 48 hours ago. The center has a white color with a little hole like thing. Very painful. Very itchy. I went to the doctor he looks for 5 seconds said it was genitak herpes. I haven t had sex with anyone for two years. Is this possible? I am too impatient to wait a week for blood work to be ready.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

where exactly is the lesions located? Can you share a picture? Red bumps with white/yellow centre suggests folliculitis rather than herpes in my opinion, but difficult to ascertain without knowing the exact location and seeing a picture. Herpes lesion usually present as clear fluid filled blisters. This will respond to antibiotics like Amoxyclav taken for 5 days. No need to wait for blood reports to start treatment- you can discuss with your doctor. Meanwhile, take analgesics like ibuprofen to control pain

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
