Suggest Remedy For Persistent Cold And Cough With Nasal Blockage

Hello, my baby is 3 yrs old, nd for the past 7 days he is suffering from cold, blocked nose, nd he ws unable to sleep through the night, his doctor gave him RELENT , he ws a little better but coughing started nd its very painful to see him coughing so heavily nw the doctor hs given him ZYRCOLD, his coughing sound hs become thicker, nd heavier. Please help what should I do. .thank u.

Thanks for asking a query. I can understand your concern. Your baby is 3 years old and have persistent cough and cold for last 7 days. He is having blocked nose, cold and cough which are resulting in lack of sleep. Zyrcold is Ambroxol and this can help to provide relief of symptoms but as his symptoms are persisting since last week so he should be shown to a paediatrician immediately. If his respiration is rapid or is having intercosatal recession then these are alarming signs.

Steam inhalation can help to clear his nose and will result in relief of symptoms. So this can prove as a really good home based treatment. If symptoms become then there is need to give antibiotic therapy. Penicillin group of antibiotics like Amoxicillin or Cloxacillin or other antibiotics like Erythromycin can be utilised. So if symptoms become worse visit a paediatrician for help.
