Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been experiencing shortness of breath for about 2 weeks now. I feel like I can t get a full breath and am constantly trying to yawn to relieve the symptoms. When I was younger I was diagnosed with cold weather asthma and put on albutoral but for years I didn t experience any symptoms. Could this be allergies? Will benadryl help?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Experiencing shortness of breath for about 2 weeks could be due to various reasons like allergy, iron deficiency, cardiac causes or some lesions in the lungs. It needs to be investigated and then treated. Kindly get the following investigations done: 1. Check your blood pressure. 2. Electrocardiogran (ECG). 3. Chest X-ray PA view. 4. Complete blood count with peripheral smear examination. 5. Pulmonary Function Test (PFT). Kindly consult Chest Physician with the reports for appropriate management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
