Suggest Remedy For Psoriasis That Is Itchy And Painful
Hi I m 18 years old and have suffered with psoriasis my whole life. I ve recently had a huge flare up which now covers around 90% of my body. It has never been this bad before and is very painful and itchy. No creams from my doctor have worked. Is there anything you could suggest?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Psoriasis covering 90% of body surface and lesions which are painful and itchy is suggestive of worsening of psoriasis and its probable conversion to erytheroderma. Erytheroderma is generalized redness of skin accompanied by painful open lesions. This condition is an emergency because there can be loss of water and electrolytes from body if fluids and electrolytes are not replaced. The treatment for this condition is also different from that used for psoriasis. Thus, consult your dermatologist as early as possible.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
