I have a blocked tear duct that has gotten infected. I ve seen my physician and he prescribed an eye drop medication four days ago. Now I have a pus pocket on the inside of my lower eye lid. Should I return to the doctor or let the medication continue to work?
hello,If there is a pus pocket then only drops wont help you will have to take oral medications also.So better to consult an eye specialist and take treatment fast before any complications related to infections occur.
It depends on the extent of the infection . Only antibiotic eye drops may not be sufficient. A short course of oral antibiotics would be better if there are pus pockets in the eyelid. You can consult your doctor after 3 days if the signs remain the same. In the meanwhile start giving warm compresses to the eyelid, for 10 minutes, thrice a day.
