Hello,

Recurring ear numbness can be a concerning symptom and may indicate an underlying condition. Here are some suggestions that may help:
- Avoid swimming until the symptoms have subsided completely. Swimming can cause water to enter your ear, which can irritate or even damage your ear canal and eardrum.
- Try to keep your ears dry and clean. Use a clean, dry towel to dry your ears thoroughly after showering, swimming, or any activity that involves water exposure.
- Avoid inserting any objects into your ear, including cotton swabs or other instruments, as it can damage your ear canal and eardrum.
- Try over-the-counter pain relief medications, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen, to relieve any pain or discomfort.

If the symptoms persist, it is recommended to visit an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist who can examine your ears and determine the cause of the numbness. Depending on the underlying condition, the ENT specialist may recommend specific treatment options such as medications or ear drops. If the numbness is accompanied by any other symptoms such as hearing loss, dizziness, or ear discharge, seek immediate medical attention.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

Recurring ear numbness can have several causes, such as an ear infection, eustachian tube dysfunction, earwax buildup, or even a nerve problem. Since you recently resumed swimming after a long break, it's possible that the water in your ear caused an infection or irritation.

Some of the remedies you can try are:
- Warm compress: Apply a warm compress to the affected ear to alleviate pain and discomfort. A hot water bottle or a warm towel can be used for this. Over-the-counter pain relievers: You can take over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen to ease the pain and inflammation.
- Avoid swimming: Avoid swimming or diving until the numbness subsides. If you do swim, make sure to wear earplugs to prevent water from entering your ears.
- Consult an ENT specialist: If the numbness persists or worsens, it's best to consult an ENT specialist. They can diagnose the underlying cause of the numbness and recommend the appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
