Suggest Remedy For Recurring Gastroenteritis

I suffer from a stomach bug (nausea & diarrhea) about once a month. I missed 2 weeks of work last year due to the flu and have already had it 3 times in 2011. I've taken vitamin C pills for months and started excercising regularly in hopes that would help but it doesn't. Any suggestions?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

In our clinic, we recommend locating the underlying cause of recurrent gastric infection. The primary concern should be at the consumption of all oral things to be monitored strictly as
- Liquids including boiled water, homemade juices, coconut water etcetera.
- A bland, vegan diet with avoidance of spices, nonveg, junk foods.
- Lifestyle changes to avoid smoking, alcohol if consuming. Work up with lab work and upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy as per the requirement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
