Suggest Remedy For Recurring Vaginal Discharge While Having Bacterial Vaginosis

I have been diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis and have had a heavy discharge for over two years now and I can not seem to get it to stop. I am given a prescription by my dr and it lessens the discharge, but once the medicine is gone, the discharge comes back. Any help?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM.

The recurrent vaginal discharge due to bacterial vaginosis could be due to chronic infection or some other new infection but it should be evaluated further by various tests.

You may need some routine blood works and ultrasound of pelvis to detect the underlying cause.

Te reason behind recurrent discharge after cessation of medicines could be either insufficient dosage or inappropriate antibiotics duration but your treating doctor will try to identify the cause.

You may require appropriate antibiotics and symptomatic medications.

So,better to consult gynecologist who will know about all the tests and treatment.

Regards,
