Hi,
Your symptoms classically describe a condition called Spinal Canal Stenosis. The spinal canal is a central cylindrical space in the vertebral column which houses the spinal cord. Due to some conditions, the canal can get narrowed and this causes the nerves exiting out and the cord to be compressed; which is causing your symptoms. If the symptoms are getting severe as you had said, you must consult a spine surgeon immediately and get a MRI scan done of your lower back along with a complete spinal screening. It also requires surgical correction if a trial of pain medications and physical therapy fail to rectify your pain and other symptoms.
