Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past couple of days I have been waking up with severe itching. I have small pus filled sores that I end up scratching through the night. It started in the inner part of the crook of my left arm, then to my right (same spot) now it s on both legs and there are several accompanying whelps on different parts of my body including left face cheek, arms and legs. During the same time I ve noticed my stool is of a light/lime green color. I am HIV positive and haven t taken meds in about 3 months. I haven t changed my diet drastically nor used any new products.
There are many rashes that can appear on your face, arms, and legs with itching. One possibility is syphilis, especially if you have the rash on your palms. It also may be dermatitis from an irritant that you are coming in contact with. Irritants are generally not new chemicals, but chemicals you have been in contact with in the past and now are allergic.
If you stopped taking HIV medication, HIV levels would increase and a HIV rash is possible as well. Seeing a medical professional in-person would be the best next step. There are federally qualified health centers that have sliding scale fees based on your income and free clinics around if you don't have insurance.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Timothy Wong, General & Family Physician
