Suggest Remedy For Severe Nausea And Dizziness While Being On Atenolol And BP 164/100

My wife is down as she has a terrible case of nausea and dizziness if up. Her BP is 164/100 lying down. Her medication isn't bringing it down. Any suggestions? Age: 58; height: 5'3"; weight: 105 She has been on atenolol for 8 yrs with a third of a 50mg tablet twice a day.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Blood pressure is mildly increased and needs to be reduced.
2. The ideal blood pressure for her age would be less than 140/90.
3. A diuretic maybe added to reduce blood pressure.
4. Nausea and dizziness maybe due to increased blood pressure. However, additionally gastritis - if any abdominal pain requires evaluation. Anxiety due to abdominal pain will raise blood pressure. Proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole will be helpful.
5. Also check for anemia. Get the hemoglobin level checked.
