Suggest Remedy For Severe Spasms In Back Due To L5 Fracture
hi there, my wife fractured her L5 vertebrae and now gets severe spasms throughout her back She's had all the xrays done - bone density is fine, everything is fine - she had a ct scan of her head which was also clear, the nuclear scan of her spine showed the L5 fracture. However the spasms get so bad that sometimes she passes out - the only thing that stops the spasms and her cries of agony is meth :/ why is that and how can we help her?

First, I would recommend performing vitamin D and calcium plasma levels to investigate for possible vitamin D deficiency, that may lead to bone fracture. Regarding the pain, it could be related to a pinched nerve in this region. Local steroid infiltration can help reduce the pain. Physiotherapy, painkillers and muscle relaxants can help improve her situation. You should discuss with her doctor on the above treatment options. Best wishes!
