Suggest Remedy For Sore Throat Due To Esophageal Reflux

Hi, I suffer with acid reflux, a camera has been inserted and the doctor told me I had gastroesophageal reflux which causes me with a sore throat, it feels as if it has been filed with a coarse rasp. My throat doesn't hurt, but my voice is getting hoarse some times.
I suffer from tight throat quite alot which leads to dry cough. In general i just feel my throat gets very irritated feels as if some thing is stuck.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms and the camera inserted that is endoscopy which is done all seems to be like the symptoms of Gastro-esophageal reflux disease that is in general terms known as Acid Reflux.
Nothing to worry as it is very much treatable and you will be relieved gradually.Consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and in case of acid reflux he can advise you to take Proton Pump Inhibitors like Omeprazole , Pantoprazole etc.
Antacids like Milk of Magnesia can be taken half an hour before meals.
Drink plenty of water..
Avoid spicy and acidic foods and also heavy and large meals.
Take small portions of food every 2 to 3 hours.
Always take a short walk after meals.
Take your dinner atleast 2 hours before going to bed..
If you are obese loose some weight.
While sleeping keep your head slightly raised as compared to legs and also prefer left lateral position for sleeping..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
