Suggest Remedy For Soreness Near Belly Button

I had a mini tummy tuck 2 weeks ago, and since then the areas directly above and below my belly button are extremely hard and red. Is this normal? There also appears to be a skin tag coming out from the center of my belly button. My PS says it is a scar from an old belly button piercing, but that does not seem likely. What is your opinion?FTI, I am a 40 yo female, 5'3" and 135 pounds, two C Sections

The redness and hardness are due to the body's inflammatory response to the surgery, this should decrease in time.

The use of anti inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, cataflam or naproxen would help to decrease the reaction.
