My dad had a stroke and brain heammorage, he still has not waken yet. his hands and feet are moving and he is breathing on his own but he has not opened his eyes. He has now whilst in this state lost 5 teeth, he has been clenching his jaw and as a result lost so many teeth. losing the teeth is not an issue but we are worried he is in so much pain. Is this normal? Has anyone heard of this before? please help as I am sooooo worried.
HI well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, without the clinical examination in such case nothing can be said for sure but from the history given here this seems to be comatose condition and time is crucial factor here, we have to wait for that only, hope this information helps, have a nice day.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Niraj Modi's Response
As per your explanation I suggest in stroke with hemorrhage cases all this symptoms are common. Here one thing you can do is take opinion from neuro physician and well as neuro surgeon for what can be done for faster improvement. In terms of medical and surgical option both. Most cases I have seen recover from this condition but time is not define. And once patient recover you also need to follow a longer rehabilitation program with physio as well speech therapist if speech is also affected. As of now just do mri of brain and consult a doctor and make sure there is no ongoing damage in brain. Recovery will be purely depended on how much damage has happen in brain. Hope this was useful. Take care.
