Suggest Remedy For Testicular Pain Post Injury

My boyfriend was ball tapped earlier this morning by someone & just recently when he was in the shower he said he felt a sharp pain while he was washing. He said it felt like the strands going down to his left testical were thicker than the ones on the right. Should he be concerned or go to the ER to get it checked out?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

From the history it appears that there are two aspects of the case. One is testicular trauma and the other is the finding of strands going down his testicle which is thicker on one side. I believe that the second is incidental finding which was only picked after he examined himself. This most likely represents varicocele (Dilated venous channels in testes). Its best to get him checked at ER and have an ultrasound done to be on safe side.

I hope this answers your query. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns.
Wishing you and your baby good health.
