Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi sir, I got my hand burnt mildely by a bike silencer and I got first aid from a doctor nearby. My outer skin got damaged and white skin is visible now.. Almost 1.5 inches in diameter.. What remedies should I do now.. I m afraid that I mayvgey scars in my hand.
As per your complain it seems that there is sloughing off of the top layer of skin due to burning and it has lead to visibility of inner layer of skin that is appearing white. I would suggest you to do cool compresses over it. You can apply a steroid ointment over it. You should also apply emollients like Petroleum jelly over it to keep it smooth and lubricated. The chances of scar formation are less and will get improved soon.
Avoid scratching the area or do not try to peel of the skin as it can delay healing and cause scarring.
Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks and regards, Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora
