Suggest Remedy For Tight Lungs And Stuffy Nose Post Exposure To Building Materials

I had several hours of exposure, two days in a row, to paint, paint thinner and some other type of building material when workers were at our house. My lungs and nose were extremely bothered by the fumes even after spending hours outside and trying to air the house. My lungs are still tight and my nose stuffy. How long should it take to clear from the two days of exposure and should I see a doc or wait a day to see if it clears?

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

As the exposure is only for 2 days whatever your symptoms are due allergic reaction to building materials and paint.

It takes variable period to resolve, depending upon immunity of individual.

For rapid recovery you can -
- Avoid exposure.
- Use antiallergic with decongestant like Tab Montair LC, Tab Allegra.
- Take Steam Inhalation.
- If there is breathing difficulties with chest congestion there may be need for nebulization or inhaler with bronchodilators.

If symptoms does not resolve in another 1 or 2 days or there is fever, breathing difficulties, noisy breathing better to consult your doctor for detailed clinical evaluation and treatment.

Hope this helps you, if so do vote as helpful.
