Suggest Remedy For Tingling Sensation And Pain In Leg Due To HSV-2 Infection

I gave my husband hsv2 about two years ago. He has had only one outbreak but for the last two years he has experienced varying degrees of nerve tingling in his left leg and buttock to the point of almost dragging his left leg the pain is so severe.. this is chronic, has never gone away fully. Nothing helps, not even valtrex. I just read a medical article on a 64 year old woman who just contracted the virus and had the same issues. The doctors there gave her Amitriptyline hydrochoride, 20 mg pills, for 4 weeks. This seemed to be very beneficial for her. What is your opinion?

Dear Patient,

yes amitriptyline can be helpful with the nerve-related pain caused by HSV2 you are describing. You can give it a try after checking back with your local md for any contraindications for your husband. Another possibility can be pregabaline as another alternative for treating nerve related pain. Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
I find this answer helpful
