My husband and I are currently trying to get pregnant. I have dermatographism and when I don t take a daily antihistamine I get so itchy that putting on shoes makes it hard to stand because my feet are so tender and itchy. Is there a safe antihistamine/ treatment that I can use once I become pregnant?
Antihistamines are generally safe to use in any part of pregnancy. They actually, in combination with Vitamin b6, are used to treat nausea during pregnancy.
So you do not need to worry about taking your usual antihistamine you take for your condition because you are pregnant.
I hope this information was helpful and best of luck for the rest of the pregnancy.
Sincerely, Dr. Brown
