Suggest Safest Way To Abort The Pregnancy

I'm 5 weeks pregnant and thinking about getting an abortion. What kind would you advise me? Which would be the safest and which would be more likely that the fetus is not yet inside of me ? If I have a bladder infection now, is it ok to get the surgical one ?

Hi
I appreciate your concerns.
At this early gestational age you can either have medical or surgical abortion. I advise you to have medical abortion after consulting family physician /Gynecologist as it avoids the complications of surgery. It is okay to have surgical abortion while taking treatment for urinary infection.
Before starting the medical abortion treatment it is important to have examination by doctor to make sure that the pregnancy is in the uterus and you do not have contraindications for the medications.

In Medical abortion there are two types of medicines ( anti progesterone and prostaglandin) used for abortion. First antiprogesterone tablet is given. 48 hours later Prostaglandin is given. Medical abortion is about 95% effective. Most women ( 80%) abort within 24 hours of taking the second pill. Some take little longer. After aborting the pregnancy you may have light bleeding for two weeks. Get an ultrasound done after two weeks to make sure that the abortion process is complete.
If you have heavy bleeding (soaks 2pads/hour for more than two hours) or if the bleeding persists even after 2 weeks she must see the doctor.

To avoid such unnecessary stress I advise you to consult your doctor and start regular contraception like hormonal contraception or have an intrauterine devise fitted as they are very effective in preventing pregnancy.
I hope I have answered to your satisfaction. If you have any further queries do contact me through healthcare magic
