Hey Docs, I was having cough for more than 10 days.I was prescribed EtoSalbatol and Wysolene 10mg by the doctor and when I went to get these tablets, the chemist advised not to take these tablets because these are basically steroids and I may have side effects. Is it true ?

Hi,

It is true that Wysolone is a steroid. However, if your doctor thinks that you really need it, then usually a short course of steroid is prescribed and it is withdrawn in a gradually tapering off manner. Generally, a short course of steroid has minimal or no side effect.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
