Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a 12 year old daughter. She has had approx. 5 episodes over the last two months of a racing heart. It happens when she is trying to fall asleep. It scares her. The other night it lasted for over an hour. She drinks one soda a week. She is thin, no where near over weight. She also has NF1. I called her dr to get a referal to a cardiologist.
hello, I have gone through your querry. Thanks for using HCM. Your daughter who has repeated spells of racing heart beats requires cardiac evaluation.I suggest you to get one ECG done during the spell of palpitation. It is possible that she is getting spells of SVT,a medical condition leading to fast heart rate.Once you document the ECG during spell of palpitation then you should plan for consultation of a cardiologist.I would be glad to guide you further if you give me feedback of her reports. My best wishes Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
