Suggest Source Of Infection For Moraxella Catarrhalis Bacterial Forms

I was just told that the dermatologist found 'strep pneumonia and moraxella catarrhalis' bacterias on my 22 month old's face. (around this mouth). The doctor gave mupirocin cream (2x for 1 week).
Questions: what are these bacterias and how would he have gotten it?
Would the cream "cure" this?
Is this a systemic issue or a one time occurrence?

Hi thanks for asking question.
These both organism spread by respiratory aerosole route and through direct person to person contact.Mostly it is nosocomial infection.
You acquired this with direct contact to some unknown carrier.
The cream is effective. It will mostly cure it.If still not cured then oral antibiotic has to be taken.
Here you have no other complaint. So just now no further systemic issue.
I hope i have solve your query.
