is it safe to give Ofloxacin + Metronidazole Suspension to ais it safe to give Ofloxacin + Metronidazole Suspension to an 18 moths old baby. We have given it to our daughter. she has been suffering from loose motions and fever for the past three days and has not been taking any food except mik and that to in little quantity. She is crying a lot and feeling irritated a lot

This combination is effective for loose stool control and it can be given in 18 month old child.
As the weaning is started from 1 year of age , chances of infective diarrhea is present.
But loose stool may be because of viral cause like rota virus.
So you can give your baby serup containing both this drug as initial imipirical treatment.
still no benefit then further work up will be done.
