Suggest Suitable Therapy For Stress And Insomnia

Hi, I am a 25 year old male and reasonably healthy, however when I was 20/21 I worked as a kitchen porter for about a year and a half, it was during my final year in college, the job caused a lot of stress as well as my finals and I feel like I was very stressed out. Half way through my final year I started to notice my body becoming very vascular. I never had vascular skin before this and it is definitely not genetic.

Anyway, it happened over a couple of weeks and my body just became really vascular, i have purple/blue blood vessels visible all over my hands, feet, genitals etc, that were never there before as well as really prominent temporal arteries too.

I just don't understand how my body changed so dramatically, but since this happened I have felt constantly adrenalized on a daily basis for the last four years, specifically the temporal arteries are so swelled sometimes it affects my sleep and I have developed a really bad insomnia problem, I have used zopitan as well as herbal remedies to help me sleep and I am currently using Mirap to help me sleep, as I got quite depressed from not being able to sleep.

I am realistic as to the fact that whatever has happened can't be reversed. I believe it has been caused by both physical and mental stress, but is there any way to get my temporal arteries to relax? So they don't throb as much. Sometimes they hurt and they are always visible, just to add I have had to stop doing physical exercise because I get too pumped up from it and then I can't sleep.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

I went through your details. Health phobia or health anxiety or hypochondriasis is an anxiety disorder which can produce weird bodily symptoms which cannot be explained with medical terminology or expertise. These symptoms do become obsessive in almost every case. These obsessions increases the anxiety which prevents you from sleeping. You need psychotherapy techniques for a complete cure along with medicines. Please consult a psychiatrist.
