Hi,

From the way you fell and as you did not hurt ground or any solid structure, it rules out fracture of the spine. Also, even if you had fracture, you would not be able to even attempt to sit up.

It seems that you have simple muscle spasm of the back. You can take muscle relaxants like Dan-MR or Hifenac- MR, if you are not allergic to them to get relief from the spasm. Alternatively, Ibuprofen 400 mg or Paracetamol (Crocin) 500 mg taken twice a day can also help to relieve pain. You can do intermittent heat application in the area to feel better. Topical application of Diclofenac Gel (Volini) can also help. Avoid strain and exercise for a few days till you feel better. As the muscles have experienced too much stress, they need time to heal.

If you do not get relief in 2-3 days, you may need to consult an orthopedic surgeon for physical examination, x-ray or probably MRI to rule out the cause of pain.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthCareMagic. I wish you feel pain-free soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
