Yes the symptoms you are facing might be due to mandibular bone fracture at condylar levels. Such a fracture is normally diagnosed by TM joint x-rays, Ortho-pantogram (OPG), CT scan etc. However such problems could also be due to some muscle/ ligament tear as well. In that case only muscle relaxant may be enough to cure the problem.
The best way is to consult a Oral & maxilofacial surgeon. He is dental surgeon specialist for diagnosis of joint dislocation & fractures. A general dentist may haven't diagnosed any fracture present in you.

As per your complain mandibular jaw fractures can be easily diagnosed in the x rays and the most commonly taken x ray is full mouth x ray known as Orthopantomogram [OPG]..

As per the symptoms you explained, it seems that if you are able to chew and there is pain and molars does not contact each other, the way they used to be seems most probably be due to dislocation of the jaw joint..

If there would be fracture in the jaw then the movement of the joint would have been restricted and there must be severe pain on even a slightest of movement..

Therefore it seems to be jaw dislocation most probably..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and he can do a proper checkup and advise treatment accordingly..
