Here for pleurisy following causes has to be ruled out .... -viral , bacterial infection -rheumatoid arthritis , SLE -tuberculosis -certain drugs etc... For that detail work up done with chest x ray and if needed ANA , RA factor , CRP , CT scan, sputum examinatio like investigation done If pleural effusion associated than pleural tapping done and fluid sent for cytology examination...
