Suggest The Ideal Dosage For Levothyroxine Taken For Hypothyroid

I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism years a go..62 yrs old...my Endocrinologist always goes by my symptoms because the labs aren t a reflection of how I feel. He dropped my Levothyroxine from 50 mcg to 25 mcg a month ago...I don t feel well. Feeling weak, tired, and could sleep all day...no energy. I do better when I am on 75mcg and do feel this way. Should I call and explain that I am not feeling well?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Along with the clinical features we do look at the thyroid function tests. So I would suggest to please do Free T3, Free T4 and Tsh and let me know then to adjust the dose accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Abrar, Internal Medicine Specialist
