My 85 year old granmother had a Ischematic? stroke Thursday. She has moderate to severe Alzheimer's and is now paralyzed and mostly nonresponsive. She has a DNR in her AHD and asked that no feeding tube or antibiotics be administered. They have agreed to leave feeding tube they placed in until she pulls it out or two weeks. What I want to know is how long will it take for her to die without it?
mostly occur in medically ill patient along with terminal disease
but she is non responsive than tube feeding is must
if you are not doing it than external fluid through intravenous route is necessary
she has many medical co morbidity and her immune system become weak
without food and fluid it is difficult to survive plz continue supportive therapy ask for medical assistance whenever it needed thank u hope for the best
