Hello doctor my mom is suffering from Alzheimer's Disorder. She has been prescribed Hydergine drug. This drug is no longer available in the market.
I want to understand whether Hydergine is effective in the treatment of Alzheimer's? Also, what are the therapeutic indications in which Hydergine is maximum prescribed.
Hydergine, a general enhancer of the nervous system, has been used for dementia including Alzheimer's although I fear with little benefit. If a diagnosis of Alzheimer's has been established these days there are other approved drugs more specific that particular type of dementia.
