Suggest Therapy For Eating Disorder

went to the doctor and told him about my situation and he said that i probably was lactose intolerent. I have tried the pills and they don t work one bit. Also some other foods tend to give me diarea such as chinease food. When i get diarea it is associated with a terrible stomach cramp that forces me to run to the bathroom. What could i have and how do i prevent it

Hi,
If your doctor has diagnosed that you are lactose intolerant it means your body cannot digest lactose present in the particular food due to the deficiency of enzyme called lactase. Nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhoea are the typical symptoms of lactose intolerance. Though lactose intolerance cannot be cured, one can lead a normal life once they understand what foods are safe and what should be avoided. It is very common in south Asian population.
Recommendations for lactose intolerance:
1. Lactose is present in milk and milk products. Since milk is a complete protein it is very essential in our diet if you are avoiding milk substitute it with enriched ( added calcium and vitamin D) almond milk. If you are experiencing intolerance with Chinese food you might be intolerant to soy as well. Because Chinese food are usually prepared with soy sauce. Avoid soy products if confirmed.
2. Yogurt is low in lactose some people tolerate it well but few don't. You can substitute it with almond or other yogurt which are lactose free.
3. Read labels on the food products to confirm there is no lactose or it should say Lactose free.
4. Lactase drops is available to treat lactose intolerance which is consumed before food.

Thanks
