Suggest Therapy For Pain & Depression Caused Due To Drug Addiction
one of my fren is sufferring from drug addiction since 7-8 yrs, his daily intake in around 50-150 mg. without which he suffers from pain & depression, though he is in a regular job(service) he is unable to get himself admit to any rehab, thus he want to get some medical treatment at home, i have heard of "suboxone"..how far its good to take for him?? pls suggets a way out.
He is taking drugs since last 8 years and has become tolerant to it. He is showing side effects and withdrawal syndrome in absence of drug. First of all I would like to tell you that for any drug deaddiction treatment first prerequisite is to have enough motivation to stop the use of drug. Forced de-addiction treatment are usually not successful. Suboxone consists of Buprenorphine and Naloxone. It is mainly used in opioid (heroine, morphine) addiction. You can't self medicate him without proper psychiatric consultation. I would advise you to visit a psychiatrist and take proper advise. The drug is given to patient and it replaces parent drug, once individual become stabilised to suboxone then gradual tapering of doses is done and individual become free of drug. Motivate him to visit a psychiatrist.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
