Hi Doctor,my recent MRI and CT scan reports gave " posterio left lateral herniation of c6-7 disc identing thecal sac, impingement on left c7 nerve root and mildly compromising left neural foramen" what can be the treament fot this, can it be reduced with medicines
There is degeneration of cervical spine disc between C 6 and C 7. This is resulting in the disc herniating between the bones. The nerve roots pass through these neural foramina and you might have severe nerve root compression at that level more on left side. The nerve pain may be controlled with restricted physical activity and pain relief medication. Please do not do heavy physical activity till you are comfortable. As it is mentioned as mild I do not think you need any surgery.
