Suggest Treatment For 11 Years Old With Growth Hormone Deficiency.
Hello. Sorry for my English but not well know. My daughter is 11 1 / 2 years old and was found with growth hormone deficiency. are treated with growth hormone 2 months now 6 days a week to dose 0.83 a day. the bone age is 12 and weight of 24 pounds. one week before start of the treatment period came and initiated simultaneously injected every 24 days for it. I would like you to tell me your opinion on the treatment and what amount will be able to win with it. Thank you
The amount of growth hormone is usually calculated in Units/kg wt, and given either daily or thrice a week. This needs to be ideally started before 5 years to get the maximum benefit. In the case of your daughter, it was started quite late, but it is better late than never. You may not see too much growth, as by 15-16 years of age, her bone ends will fuse with the rest of the bone and her vertical growth will stop.
