Suggest Treatment For AFib Causing Rapid Heart Rate, Dizziness And Breathlessness

Sudden rapid heartbeat, as with my afib, moves upwards and causes dizziness, shortness of breath, ears ringing and hearing diminished, tingling of face around nose and eyes and scalp and suddenly goes as quick as it came. I know I have afib (for 16 yrs), and these symptoms happen daily of late.. I can be sitting at the computer, walking, or sitting on the couch. If out walking, I can hardly make it back to my truck without the drastic need to sit down.

Hi,

With such severe episodes of A fib or heart arrhythmia you need to see an electrophysiologist as soon as possible and get your EP studies. I will also suggest to go for ablation procedure to get over with it. Meanwhile beta blockers medications to control heart rate or rate limiting calcium channel blockers or amiodarone may be needed for rhythm control. You have clear indications to be treated on immediate basis. Such episodes can be life threatening as well so shouldn't be taken lightly.
