Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am on my fourth month of accutane ( 80 mg daily) and still getting cystic flare ups on my cheeks. Accutane has helped a lot but I was just wondering when the cysts should start going down and staying away. I m beginning to get discouraged. I Make sure and wash my face nightly and eat a decent amount of fatty foods every time I take the meds. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Thanks for your consultation at HCM !! I have gone through your case and as your physician I understand your concerns.... My advise to you is not to stop the treatment and continue with your treatment..take your medicine on full stomach and avoid sweets in your food.... Use sun screen daily ..don't try to peel off your pimples...if I have to treat you I will add low dose antibiotic along with accutane.... Hope your query is adequately answered if you still have any feel free to ask... Regards Dr Saad Sultan
