My 11 year old daughter has a test result for thyroid microsomal antibody of 1300.0. the rest of her thyroid levels seem close to normal but she has been diagnosed with hashimotos. I do not want to begin wpthyroid, but would like to get her thyroid to work repairing on it s own, could iodine through kelp or other natural substance be a better way to go?
Hashimoto's disease is an autoimmune disorder characterized by antibodies produced against body's self. Treatment of Hashimoto's disease is managed by steroids to reduce the effect of auto-antibodies on thyroid.
