It is actually chronic lung disease in which lung parenchyma undergo fibrosis and thickening. So to prevent inflammation, anti inflammatory drugs are given. Methotrexate is one of these drug. But best treatment for sarcoidosis is corticosteroid. Oral corticosteroid is drug of choice for sarcoidosis and hence it should be started in all patients.
