Suggest Treatment For Sinus Arrhythmia
My son is 18 1/2 yrs old. He has Sinus arrynthmia and was told that the severe chest pain he suffers from (feels like someone is stabbing him in the heart) is caused by the lining between the lungs and the heart being dry. The pain is so bad that he doubles over, squeezes my fingers until they are numb. How can this be taken care of? The Cardiologist here in Steamboat Springs told us about the arrhythmia (heart rate can go up to 157 bpm) and Cardiologist at Mt. Nittney Medical told us about the lining being dry. Both said that the problems are not life threating.

sinus arrhythmia represents a normal physiologic variation in which the heart rate slows during expiration and accelerates during inspiration.chest pain here may be due to acute pericarditis or associated pleuritic pain which feels like steady, constricting pain that radiates into either arm or both arms and resembling myocardial ischemia.Characteristically, however, pericardial pain may be relieved by sitting up and leaning forward and is intensified by lying supine.Ecg and serum biomarkers like troponin and myoglobin should be done to rule out mocardial ischemia.echo should be done.consult cardiologist for further workup.
