Suggest Treatment For Upper Respiratory Tract Infections
I ve had a strong cold for a week, with a completely stuffed nose and a cough which brings up a lot of crud. My nose was completely blocked (especially in the morning) and I could blow it for minutes and could go through 5 or 7 tissues but still not get all the junk out. What did come out were long hard chunks of yellow and brown snot. In the past few days there has also been large blood clots (deep red to black chunks) and blood mixed in with the snot. My cold has been getting better, but not the nose issue. Pressure builds up in my sinuses and ears (which won t pop ). Last night when I was rubbing around my eyes there was a loud crackling popping sound from my sinuses. My wife heard it from across the room. I m getting concerned about the blood clots, which are near constant. When I wake up in the morning, I can feel the trail of hardened gunk in the back of my throat and taste the blood. Hello, Thanks for your query. Drinking enough fluids will help you feel better and recover faster. Avoid alcohol, coffee and cigarettes? Alcohol and coffee are dehydrating. Gargling with warm salt water several times a day is one of the most effective remedies for a scratchy and painful throat. If you have a congested nose, with headache, or a sensation of pain or pressure around your eyes and nose, inhale steam two to four times during the day for about ten minute. Even vegetable soup with pepper and garlic will be soothing though it is yet to be tested by scientists. Using a vaporizer to moisten your room air will help ease congestion and coughing.
